1. Is it alright to plant trees and shrubs now?

Absolutely this is a great time of year to plant trees and shrubs.



2.What should I use to fertilize my lawn with now?

If you have weed problems, a fertilizer with a pre-emergent weed killer like
Ferti-lome All Season. If weeds are not a problem then use a high quality lawn
food with iron like Ferti-lome, Jirdons or Pro-rich.




3. When is it safe to plant flowers like petunias and marigolds outside?

This can be a crap shoot in Colorado but normally the date we are safe from
frost is May 15th, but if you plant before then and we get a frost you can
always cover your plants.




4. What is a good preventative insecticide to use on my plants now?

Bayer Tree and Shrub is a systemic insecticide that last in your trees or shrubs
for one year and now would be a good time to apply it.




5. There are weeds already coming up, what can I spray on them?

Most weed killers are not effective till we have constant temperatures above 70
degrees but there is one that is very effective above 40 degrees and it
is Weed Free Zone from Ferti-lome.
